Hopefully this little doodle is self-explanatory, but just in case - I'll expound. The original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie is one of my all-time favorite films (the subsequent 2 were mostly awful). I can recite the dialogue right along with it, and my younger brother even memorized the Turtle Power rap at the end. We must have watched it after school (on VHS) a couple hundred times. So when I heard that Michael Bay was going to be in charge of the new live-action reboot... I was more than upset. I wasn't a huge fan of Transformers, but I hated his versions. He cares more about spectacle than story - and doesn't respect the source material, if you ask me. So this is me (in 30min.) imagining that it was all a big joke and that Kevin Eastman (& Peter Laird, of course) wished the same.
>30 Minutes, < 30 Minutes
Okay - so this took a bit more that 30 minutes - more like 2 or 3 hours. TJ & I weren't able to draw together this week, but I've been wanting to do this illustration since we started this whole thing & I figured now was as good a time as any. Enjoy.
And... here's a few Less-Than-30-Minute Turtles from TJ - which he couldn't post himself because they are taped to my computer at work. A recent 5-10 minute rendition of another punny idea of mine - Gi-Raph. And probably the inspiration for this whole project - my favorite drawing of Shredder ever. Both on Post-It notes.
